The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) is the world authoritative body for the sports industry officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the industry representative within the Olympic Family.
The WFSGI is an independent association with no objective of economic character for its own gain and formed by sports and sports-inspired leisure brands, manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, national/regional federations, industry and trade associations and all sporting goods industry related businesses.
The WFSGI is composed of Executive and Board members, 8 core Committees and additional working groups which exchange information on various issues and topics. WFSGI Members meet at least once per year in an Ordinary General Assembly called the “Annual Meeting”. The General Assembly approves the budget and strategic direction of the WFSGI as proposed by the Board, and elects the Board, President and Committee members for three year terms.

- WFSGI Pledge for the FIFA Quality Programme
The WFSGI Pledge for the FIFA Quality Programme is free of charge for WFSGI members and embraces the global production of FIFA licensed products – footballs (FIFA Quality, FIFA Quality Pro and IMS), artificial turf and goal-line technology systems. As part of the FIFA Quality Programme the Pledge shall ascertain that these products are manufactured in compliance with globally recognized labour principles and without the involvement of child labour.

- Olympics
The WFSGI represents its members vis-à-vis the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Sports Federations (IFs) on any subject of concern for the sporting goods industry including equipment and advertisement regulations. WFSGI is present during Olympic Games to support the members with technical accreditations, tickets for hospitality programmes, and in case of dispute and mediation with the organizing committee, NOCs and/or other stakeholders.

The WFSGI Magazine is the only high-profile publication in the industry and our communication flagship. High-level authors and experts give insight into industry topics, tendencies and facts. WFSGI’s annual publication gathers articles on important topics for the industry such as the promotion of physical activity & health, corporate responsibility, international trade and manufacturing challenges, bicycle issues.
The Board controls and supervises the management of the WFSGI and may operate by complying with a specific written code of conduct as agreed upon by a simple majority of all board members. In addition to the functions mentioned herein, the Board prepares – among others - proposals relative to By-laws, controls and supervises the use of membership fees and other revenues generated by the WFSGI in the best interest of the WFSGI’s members. It also administers and supervises WFSGI’s programs and prepares the annual budget, including proposals for membership fee changes. It also prepares and approves the strategic direction of the WFSGI.
