Conference on Consumer Centricity – Increasing Speed to Market  

Switzerland/The Netherlands – On 7 and 8 June, 2017 a Conference organized by the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) and Bike Europe takes place in Porto, Portugal. Main theme of the 2-day International Conference is consumer centricity and increasing speed to market abilities of the bicycle and e-bike industry.

The bicycle industry is shifting its focus. From dealers to consumers. Online sales continues to grow rapidly for all sorts of products - including bicycles and e-bikes. Consumer centricity is the prerequisite for new business models triggering a switch to omni-channel distribution strategies. The Conference in Porto, named World Cycling Forum, addresses the profound consequences of the trend to consumer centricity.

Putting Internet browsing consumers into perspective
At the World Cycling Forum 2017 a series of experts will put Internet browsing consumers into perspective and help explain what their near future decisions will do to the bike retail sector. The need for speed also changes production. What’s going to happen here? Is reshoring viable and is with that an all-out robotization inevitable?
The answers to these big questions can be found at the first World Cycling Forum, where an interactive format as well as a series of events suited for networking, will promote an industry-level dialogue.

Targeting top managers
The World Cycling Forum is targeting top managers and decision makers of bicycle and e-bike manufacturers in Europe, US and Asia; purchasing, procurement, supply chain directors and managers; CEO’s, COO’s and MD’s of P&A manufacturers and distributors in Europe, US and Asia; decision makers at retail chains, retail cooperatives, retail franchisers as well as industry associations and stakeholders.

The World Cycling Forum 2017 includes a small scaled exhibition. Here Bike Value Portugal based companies are represented. Also other companies presenting their latest initiatives on reshoring production from Asia to Europe are highlighted here. 
The Conference Program also includes interactive panel debates and Q&A sessions; a workshop; lunches; cocktail party as well as a dinner cruise on the Douro river.
